Is a passport required?
Yes! As of June 1, 2009 passports will be required. For information on how to get your passport in time, visit our Passports Page.
What is the purpose of the 2009 Kuri Bandster Bash?
To give thanks to all Dr. Kuri's patients, to give patients of Dr. Kuri and the Bandster community the opportunity to put faces to screen names, get together with old friends, and most of all...TO HAVE FUN!!!
What is this year's theme?
The Oscar’s! This year is the 10th annual event and we wanted to do something VERY special. Expect to see red carpet and everything that goes with it!
What is the registration fee for the 2009 Kuri Bandster Bash?
The cost is $30 and includes all daytime activities and evening events on the schedule.
Is Dr. Kuri offering to do free fills again this year?
Yes! Fill appointments will be available with Dr. Kuri and the team. A $95 fluoroscopy fee is required by the hospital, and is to be paid directly to Hospital Angeles at the time of service.
What sort of activities will we be participating in over the weekend?
The weekend is jam packed with a Lap-Band Patient Support Group, an entire day of Band Education, a Game Night, Cocktail Hours, Evening Networking Events, Exercise Classes, and more! Bandsters will be recognized, and fun prizes will be awarded throughout the weekend.
Will there be opportunities to participate in group activities?
Yes! There will be a support group, group education, a 5k Walk, Yoga Class, Water Aerobics, stretching, networking events, and more!
Will other services be offered during the bash? If so, what and how do I sign up?
Attendees may register for massages, facials and cosmetic procedures including Botox. We’ll also be arranging for hair and makeup services before the Saturday evening event.
Where and when do I check in for the Bash at the hotel?
You may check in at our Registration Table any time on Friday beginning at 8:00am. Check In will be located upstairs in the Vivaldi Foyer. Instructions for finding us will be posted in the lobby.
How do I book my room at the hotel?
Call Marriott World Wide Reservations toll-free 1-888-748-8785 (You will hear a recording in Spanish - Stay on the line for an English speaking service representative.) Simply tell them you are attending the Dr. Kuri Bash at the Marriott Tijuana. They will quote you a rate of $80.00 + tax (approximately $90.00). If you have any problems, ask them to connect you to the Marriott Tijuana and ask for Oscar Flores our event coordinator.
I am alone and would love to share costs by sharing a room. How do I find others interested in sharing a room?
Visit our brand new private Online Discussion Forum and click on the “Kuri Bandster Bash” group. Here you can post messages, ask questions, and read what others are saying about the upcoming event.
Is Dr. Kuri providing Transportation to and from the US this year?
YES! Transportation will be available at select times for arrivals on Thursday and Friday, and departures for Sunday. Although we cannot accommodate everyone’s exact arrival time, we are scheduling pickups strategically throughout the day to help ensure everyone has an option for a free ride.
How do I submit my transportation information?
You may submit your transportation information by visiting the Transportation Form. Any requests made after August 10th will not be guaranteed.
How do I submit my pictures?
You have 2 options for submitting your pictures. The first option is to visit the Kuri Bandster Bash group in our online patient forum. The second option is to email them as an attachment to sdoffice@lapbandsurgery.com
How do I schedule a fill during the Bash?
